EV's (Electric Vehicles) are becoming one of the choices of an alternative fuel vehicle for the masses. Ev's use batteries and an electric motor in place of an ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) to propel the vehicle. A few Pre-Engineering students in the class of 2011 recognized the importance of EV Vehicles and are in the process of creating a test EV in the form of a Go-Cart. This is a project that may span through the rest of their High School Career. This is an exciting endeavor and a great learning experience....So stay tuned for updates and pictures as this project electrifies our minds!!

I was skeptical in 2007 when GM showed off its EV concept the 'Volt' but when i saw the concept I was shocked to learn that the production vehicle would not stray far from the original design. Now in September 2008 the Volt has taken the Chevy badge and now the production vehicle is up and rolling. It should be available for the masses as a 2011 model so usually that means a 2010 debut. I am speculating an early 2010 release to dealers and demand will be high. The video below gives a good perspective of its abilities and it's shortcomings.
